The Shakespeare Club Bursary Award 2025

We are pleased to announce that Rebecca Halliwell from Lancaster University has been awarded this year’s Shakespeare Club Bursary.  She is a PhD student whose research is titled ‘Creating Bibliotherapeutic Encounters with Shakespearean Comedy’. As part of her research, she wishes to explore the RSC’s 2023 production of ‘As You Like It’, David Farr’s 2009 ‘The Winter’s Tale’ and Lindsay Posner’s 2001 ‘Twelfth Night’. Rebecca has identified material relating to these productions in the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust’s archives. She has been awarded funds to enable a 2-night stay in Stratford so these can be accessed. She expects to complete her research in June 2026 and the Club is looking forward to welcoming her at a meeting in the Autumn where she will share some of her findings with us.
