Give A Talk
The Shakespeare Club of Stratford-upon-Avon has eight club evenings a year for members and guests, usually on the second Tuesday of the month between October and May. These friendly occasions offer members an opportunity to hear academics talk about their latest research, practitioners share their expertise, or performers showcase their talents, all with an interest related to Shakespeare and his times. Talks are often illustrated by images or video, some include performance or music, and last about an hour with time for questions. Audiences range from 40 to 100 people.
A list of the current talks can be found here and those from past seasons here.
If you are conducting research or have something you would like to share that you think would engage with our club members, we would be delighted to hear from you. We offer a modest fee and can make a small payment towards travel and any accommodation expenses. Please get in touch in the first instance by emailing our Secretary (stratfordshakespeareclub@gmail.com) with an outline of your proposed talk and short biography. Talk programmes are drawn up during the month of March for the season beginning the following Autumn, so please also indicate when you might be available.
